Sims are a pretty popular training aid. I prefer them to laser guns and UTMs.

When I was in the Marines, we’d use simunitions out of our standard firearms. Doing MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) training, our instructors would load them into their Beretta 92FS and hid in random rooms and plug us with the rounds to show us where we made mistakes. Didn’t take long, either. They certainly have a lower load, but even through the web gear and clothing, they will break skin and leave you sore for a few days.

The firearms themselves were real weapons and unmodified. Not sure how standard this is, but I would suspect it’s common.

.50 GI is the stupidest? Well I don’t think it’s a supreme round as well…but I’ve never shoot it , so you must know better

I’d rather not own anything related to the stupidest round ever designed for a 1911. I’d nab one of my friends .50 beo pieces of brass but I know that stuff is worth more than gold.
